Roopkumar Rathod is an Indian music director and playback singer. He is the son of late Dhrupad Maestro Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod, and belongs to the Aditya Gharana of Jamnagar. He was initiated into the world of music during his formative years, beginning as a tabla player sought after by almost all the ghazal singers in the 1980s. His journey with music began when he sang “Mein Tera Aashiq Hoon,” composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal for the film Gumraah, and has since sung in over 11 languages. Apart from singing, Roopkumar has a strong in interest in live performance. He has toured extensively with renditions of music spanning multiple genres: ghazal, sufi, classical, and film.
